A leadership program designed for Asian American men in business

Asian Business League of San Francisco (ABL-SF) is proud to announce its second annual leadership program You are the CEO of You! for Asian American men in business. This program is designed to address the unique issues and challenges confronted by Asian American men in today’s business environment and will be taught by some of the top leaders in business.

Unlike other leadership training programs, You are the CEO of You! aims to provide specific skills that often are found lacking or underdeveloped in those seeking to become chief executive, chief financial or chief information officers. This program provides a clear roadmap for participants to take charge of their careers and personal success through a series of interactive training courses. This innovative biweekly, six-part series will combine presentations by experts plus interactive break-out sessions that will produce individual action plans. This opportunity is limited to 21 participants who will be selected through an application process based on the criteria listed below:

May 5 6pm to 8 pm	Pre-Program Mixer	Come meet the other participants and get a sneak peek at all of the benefits you will get from the program.
May 12 6pm to 9pm	The Reality of the C-Suite Buck Gee, Former CEO, Andiamo Systems & Vice President, Cisco Systems, Inc. (Datacenter Unit)	Find out first-hand what being a CEO, CFO or CIO is really like, the myth and stereotypes that can affect male Asian leaders and which skills are needed to get to the top. We’ll also discuss the different leadership styles and you will have the opportunity to assess your own style.
May 26 6pm to 9pm	Goal Setting and Work-Life Balance Tom Low, Former CFO, Restoration Hardware, Ask Jeeves & Safeway.com	Discover why most goals are never achieved, how to set clearly-defined goals and develop accountability systems. You will also learn how to decide if the sacrifices to reach your goals are worth it and how to balance your work and personal life.
June 9 6pm to 9pm	Personal Branding for the C-Suite Ryan Yip, Career Coach and Certified 360 Reach Personal Brand Analyst	We will explore the importance of personal branding to leadership and how to develop a powerful as well as unique personal image. You will also get a glimpse into what image you project in the workplace.
June 23 6pm to 9pm	Powerful Communication Skills	We will examine the preconceptions about Asian male communication styles, discuss the development of great listening skills, learn how to deal with difficult people and understand the importance of credibility to leadership.
July 7 6pm to 9pm	Networking Your Way to the Top Stephen Hyndman, CFO, GGV Capital	You will learn how and why a powerful network is crucial to getting into the C-Suite, how to use a network to expand your influence, benefits of having and becoming a mentor, and effectively using social networks to move your career forward.
July 21 6pm to 9pm	Leadership Skills: Beyond B-School Eugene Lee, CEO, SocialText & Former Vice President, Cisco Systems, Inc. (Worldwide Small/Medium Business Marketing)	Find out how to set company strategy and goals, define the organizational processes and take steps to achieve them. Learn to amplify your strengths, compensate for weaknesses, as well as develop self-awareness, authenticity and humility. You will also assess your own decision-making style.
